Whale Pod

Posted on: September 9th, 2023 by Lorna McMahon

Whale Pod is my latest finish!

I chose a bright array of rainbow prints to make my whales. And blue bubbles for the ocean.

This quilt was fun to make and I love the happy smiling faces on the whales.

I found this cute nautical print on a recent fabric shopping trip….

And I paired it up with this red text print that has been in my stash for years!

Such a perfect fit!

This finished quilt (and many others) are listed for sale in my Etsy shop here.

Whale Pod quilt finished 40” x 41”

If you are interested in making your own, the pattern is available here…

The whale blocks finish small 3.5″ x 9″ and large 7″ x 18″.

Oh what an adorable quilt and pattern. That text print binding is really perfect for the quilt. Great use of it.

What a wonderful, happy quilt! You have come up with another fabulous pattern! I just love the bubble background fabric and the bright colors of the whales.

What a cute pattern! I was sorting all my patterns the past few days (they were out of control) and came across the giraffe pattern (I’ve made it twice) and the crocodile pattern that I used at the bottom of my granddaughter’s Peter Pan quilt 5 years ago. I also found the Christmas quilt along patterns.
