Puffer Fish

Posted on: February 14th, 2021 by Lorna McMahon

Welcome to the NEW Sew Fresh Quilts BLOG!!!

Today I am sharing my Puffer Fish quilt finish, made using all solids!

The urge to use prints was incredibly strong…

I quilted in my usual horizontal organic wavy lines from edge to edge using my walking foot and white thread.

Then I went back again and used a blue variegated thread to add interest.

I used the last of the pond print, and added a coordinating strip across the top to add to the length, for the backing.

My “Puffer Fish” quilt finished at 45″ x 45″

You can find the finished Puffer Fish quilt for sale in my NEW SHOP.

    You MADE my day 🙂
I have a real puffer in a big tank, its name is Rudy and he is a humpback pufferfish. Veeeery greedy and funny, it is still a teenager, around 5 inches long at the moment, he will be double the size as adult fish
I must gave this pattern 🙂

Those puffers are really cute! I especially like the quilting. The blue really did add to the white–gives it an extra zing. Great idea!

  5. Moving to solid colors takes effort. So fun to see your nice stitching, thread embellishment, and snow setting. Really fun, front and back.
