Wee Fox Cushions
I am definitely having a wonderful time working in my little “Santa’s Workshop” this month. Okay…. So I am really still hanging around in my own little sewing room. But it sure is starting to feel like I’m at the North Pole! B-r-r-r!
This set of quilted cushions was made to match the Forest Friends quilts using the same Cotton Couture solids from Michael Miller Fabrics.
I made the 8″ square Fox Blocks which are a part of my Forest Friends pattern, which can be purchased from my pattern store here. Then bordered the blocks with 4″ wide strips.
And quilted them using my signature organic wavy lines. I chose a light gray Superior Threads’ Omni #3023 on top and plain white Guetermann polyester thread in the bobbin. Then I trim them down to the 14″ x 14″ size of the pillow forms.
The backings are Aviary in aqua also by Michael Miller Fabrics. Once again I turned to this tutorial by S.O.T.A.K Handmade for making the hidden zipper closures on the back.

I just love your little foxes. You've captures them so realistically. We would see them when living in the country – though they were usually streaking away, with their big bushy tails flowing behind them. Love the quilting you do – I'm still practicing :)!
Lorna, these little foxes are nothing short of adorable. We have a little fox visiting our property regularly, and that's just what he looks like. Acquiring the pattern has been placed at the very top of my wish list. XO

Great pillows. I see that you didn't put your zipper in the middle of the backing. I might give that a try next time. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the zipper tutorial. I love it!
