Bookkeeper Quilt

Posted on: January 19th, 2024 by Lorna McMahon

Bookkeeper is my first finish for 2024!!!

And we have snow for a bright white background.

I decided to make a narrower bookshelf for the backing. I used a bit of improvisation and made the Good Book on the top shelf.

I adore the cool blues and greens used for the books. These hues make me happy!

The back also has books above and below the bookshelf.

I used a polyester batting for this quilt, something I haven’t used for years, but I had a roll hanging around and decided to get it used.

The quilting was mostly organic wavy lines from edge to edge, but I also echo quilted the rows across. This quilt is heavy and puffy!

Bookkeeper quilt finished at 64.5” x 75”.

Hoping to soon finish my Book Shelf Cats!

Quilt finishes 43” x 50”, 64.5” x 75” and 86” x 100”. Blocks finish 10″ square and 10” x 16″, 15″ square and 15” x 24″ and 20″ square and 20” x 32”.

Hope you all had a very merry Christmas! We were blessed to spend Christmas Day visiting my mom at her home and then had a family Christmas at my house on Boxing Day. It was wonderful!

Unfortunately, my mother had a fall last Sunday, broke her hip, and has since had a successful surgery and is back recovering at her home. Please keep her in your prayers.

Happy New Year!!!
