Ducks and Ducklings quilt finish
Good news! It finally quit raining and raining and raining here.
Bad news! It already started snowing here.
Thankfully, there are also some sunny fall days left. Took the opportunity yesterday to get some outdoor photography done. And went for a drive with my son, Russell. Still pretty windy out there!!!! More on that in a later post….
My “Duck and Ducklings” quilt is one of my most recent designs in a series using a combination of 10″ blocks that feature both animal blocks and traditional quilt block designs. These Duck blocks are paired together with the traditional “Duck and Ducklings” block.
The borders and backing is this cute rubber ducky fabric that I found at Quilting by Design in New Hamburg. It’s called “Rub-A-Dub Ducky” listed here. Apparently, it’s by Alexander Henry Fabrics and is an oldie but a goodie! Some of the good folks (who seen my post about top-stitching binding) on Instagram were flooding my post comments on those cute rubber ducks and what they had previously made using this fabric. Someone even wondered if it was a reprint???
The close up photos give a better sense of the true colours in this adorable print.
Not only are the ducks cute… But the BUBBLES are even CUTE!
My “Duck and Ducklings” quilt finished at 50″ x 62″
The pattern also provides a setting for 78″ x 78″.
Duck and traditional “Duck with Ducklings” blocks finish 10″ square.

Love all your patterns. I recently bought the cowgirl block and am getting ready to make her! You are so talented!
The material for your ducks wings make the duck pop!
What a fun quilt! I love the backing, too.
