Play Time: Meet Cinnamon!

Welcome to the NEW Sew Fresh Quilts BLOG!!!

Four days ago, I showed you my Play Time quilt finish…

Two days ago, I posted about my doll quilt sized Play Time quilt finish…

I am really enjoying making these blocks!!!

Because this pattern offers SO MANY different hair styles and clothing options, you can make your block to match a little dolly in your life.

Then you can make that block into a matching dolly quilt!

Each block is 12″ wide by 14″ tall, by adding a 3″ to 3.5″ border, you can bring this quilt up to the perfect size for a standard 18″ doll bed.

I strip pieced two 1.5″ width of fabric strips for the inner sections of the border and 2″ wide strip for the outer section of the border. Then I used the Mitered Border tutorial to finish the corners.

I did not use any batting in the doll quilt, but instead chose to use flannel for the backing.

I pinned the top directly to the wrong side of the flannel backing and quilted in my usual wavy lines from edge to edge. Then added a machine finished binding.

I made a another little pillow too!

For this wee pillow, I simply pieced a blue cuff on the end of the floral print, folded the fabric with right sides together, then placed it on a piece of batting and stitched around the two raw edges on the left and bottom, turned the tube outside right, folded in the raw edges inside on the right side of the cuff and top stitched closed.

I have made many table runners, placemats and even a few doll blankets before, but this is only the second time I quilted anything without batting.

Resulting in the softest drape!

    Hi Lorna:
I was wondering if you had any patterns for a Mama goat and babies. A friends goat just delivered “quads” so I thought a quilt would be a fun way to celebrate/remember the occasion.
    Thanks,
    Sandra

    • Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my site Sandra!!!

Actually, I don’t have a goat pattern. Mainly because I seen this other wonderful designer’s work here. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/664854382/quilt-pattern-kidding-around-goats-in
This is the Kidding Around: Goats in Pajamas quilt pattern by Art East Quilting Co. – Instant Download – Traditional Piecing
John is the designer. He also uses the same easy piecing methods.

Please tell John I sent you in the NOTE TO SELLER section of your purchase if you do get the pattern.
I like to let people know I am supporting them in their work too!!!

      Hope this helps!
      Wishing you Happy Stitching!
