Dog Daze

Posted on: November 24th, 2023 by Lorna McMahon

The Dog Days of Summer are long gone, as we are full on into dall here now.

This quilt is called Dog Daze and features four different styles of dogs.

Their faces are basically the same, but their ears and neck lengths vary.

The front fabrics are all neutrals – except for the tongues – so I was pleased to find this lovely print for the backing. The greens, orange and yellow trees pop and there’s also a white dog!!!

Quilted in my usual organic wavy lines, using grey on top and white on the back.

I added a narrow strip of a couple of the neutrals from the front to make the backing wider.

I opted to use a light coloured binding instead of my basic black. But added a bit of black anyway.

I am really pleased with this quilt and think every one of these blocks are Good Doggies!

Dog Daze quilt finished 42” x 44”.
