My Little Chickadee

Posted on: September 1st, 2022 by Lorna McMahon

This quilt forced me to recognize that there are no floral prints in my stash.

I was able to find this large daisy style print and paired it with the red to make bright and cheerful Chickadees. I used a cream print with wispy dandelions for the background and the trees are a light turquoise print that looks like waves and reminds me of bark.

My sister took the photos for these latest finishes. I like them even if they’re not squared up.

There are very few photos of ME on my blog. So it’s nice to be the quilt holder for a change.

The backing is more of the floral from the front and a strip of pale yellow.

My Little Chickadee quilt finished at 50” x 50” and was quilted in organic wavy lines from edge to edge. I added bits to my binding again!

I chose to make my quilt bright with florals….

But you might like more traditional looking Chickadees like these….

I also like these ones with the bright background, to give some contrast to those sweet tweets!
