Meerkats Is Where It’s At

Posted on: July 8th, 2022 by Lorna McMahon

As I explained in yesterday’s post, I have not had any official finishes to share, because my unquilted pile is growing with all the new designs I have been testing. Here are the Meerkats! They’re popping up outta their holes and all looking ”thataway”!

You know what else is growing? (Besides the never ending mountain of dirty dishes in the kitchen!)

Two years ago, I had the opportunity to retrieve some of my plants from the farm and spent hours digging out and transplanting them into the flower bed at the side of our new home in Mitchell.

And here are a few pics of how it looks now!!!

My pretty pink lilies are back! Last year there was an invasion of the Red Asian Lily Beetle which destroyed my other lilies and that of my neighbour’s. I sprayed them down with oil and managed to save this one.

Here are the Daylilies. These plants were unaffected by either the Beatle Invasion of 1964 or the Red Asian Lily Beetle Invasion of 2021.

These are some rustic planters I have around the front entrance. The rusty milk can was the base of our roadside mailbox for almost 20 years. I retrieved it when I transplanted my flowers. And I found a use for these old hay fork handles that were also lying about. Paired up with a painted bundt pan.

Meerkats Is Where It’s At! quilts finish 53″ square.
