{Yet Another} Modern Patchwork Doll Quilt
I promise…. This is the fourth and final doll quilt.
This cute little Husky puppy wanted to help!
This time I started with these kitty and chicken scraps. And just kept adding until my desired size of 17.5” x 20.5” was reached Then I added 2″ border strips.
Velvet wanted a turn, trying out the new quilt.
Then Thumblina and ThumbleGina begged for a chance to have a turn. They promised to behave.
I have to admit, they looked so cute!
But!!!
It did take long before they began getting crazy!!!
I did not use batting between the layers. And again, just used a flannel for the backing, allowing for even less stiffness in the finished product and a nicer drape.
I sewed 1/4″ around the edges with right sides facing, but left a hole for turning, then topstitched all around. This makes a bindingless finish. Then echo quilted along the seams.
My little Cats Rule patchwork doll quilt finished at 19″ x 22”.
Sometimes you just got to get back to the basics and do some simple piecing for some simple pleasure. I have sure enjoyed making all these little patchwork doll quilts!
