Show Your Wings

Posted on: February 21st, 2019 by Lorna McMahon

I’m sew excited to be able to share a story about my wings with you today!

This is my Little Dragon wall hanging. It was so much fun to make! I chose to make the smaller version. And backed it with this feather print I made myself on Spoonflower 100 years ago. And I added corner tabs for hanging.

“Little Dragon” quilted wall hanging
finished at 20″ x 27″

ordered from Ikaprint.

The Little Dragon pattern is now available in my shop here.

Today is the one year anniversary of moving into my new home and life. It has been a challenging year. But I am very, very happy. Thanks to all of my friends for the love and support!!!!

  36. Suze says:

Nice, adorable quilt. I hope you are fine with your new life. I had a traumatic childhood – I'll leave it there. Then I married a man who was an alcoholic and I knew nothing about that – I never saw him drunk. He sure had the controlling behaviors. Then he walked out after 23 years. With all that I've suffered with depression for years and I still do. I just started this week seeing a psychiatrist to try to get medications in that arena in better shape. It's a journey. Luckily, my children were 18 and 20, so I didn't have to deal with my ex. He just came back into my life last August and I let him turn it upside down again. There's a reason I have a boundary that the kids and I don't talk about him. I don't even like to go to the side of town where he lives. I don't even want to see any part of him. How can we go from loving someone to this? It's amazing. I haven't pieced a quilt since my second husband died 5 1/2 years ago. Trauma certainly takes a toll on us – whether we let it or not – it happens. We are fighters and it will get better. I tell you this not as a pity party – to tell you there is a hope and a future. You are an amazing, talented, beautiful lady. Chin up and go for it!
