Forest Friends 2

It took a while…

But I finally made the Forest Friends 2 turn from a design idea into an actual quilt.

I am so excited to have transformed these new forest animals and birds into fabric form!ย All the fabric used in the front are from the Hopscotch collection by Jamie Fingal for RJR Fabrics, which you canย view here.

RJR Fabrics offered to sponsor this project using their latest collection –ย Hopscotch by Jamie Fingal. I love these prints! They are cute and tiny geometric prints that “read like a solid”. And the colours are amazing!

As I mentioned before…. The Forest Friends 2 design is compatible with the original Forest Friends design. Both patterns include a Twin size and Baby size option. All the block sizes are the same, so the blocks are interchangeable.

The quilting is organic wavy lines using my walking foot. I choseย Light Grey Omni from Superior Threads on top and plain white Gutermann thread in the bobbin for the back.

The backing is from the Urban Artifacts collection by RJR Fabrics, which you can view here. ย I am simply in LOVE with this print! The colours, the dots, the flowers and the text. It is just such a fun print!

ย
Theย “Forest Friends 2”ย quilt finished at 59” x 75″
and was the 30th use of my 2nd edition of 100 labels
ordered fromย Ikaprint.

The original Forest Friends pattern isย available here in my shop.

And the NEW Forest Friends 2ย pattern is NOWย available here in my shop.

Both patterns provides instructions for making two sizes.

TWIN Size finishes at 59โ€ x 75โ€
BABY Size finishes at 31โ€ x 39โ€

  3. Beautiful fabrics for your gorgeous Forest Friends 2 pattern! Love those blocks – especially the added mountain block! So enjoy how you add the footprints to tiptoe through it all. This one has my favorite two birds of all – blue jay and cardinal. Thank you for making it compatible with your Forest Friends 1 – so fun!!

Gorgeous – love it. I do like the blue jay – only ever seen one on holiday – the colour is striking! And the cardinals are so bright (seen a few of those now) – wish we had both birds here.

    I love it; nicely done.

  14. Both of your Forest Friends quilts are just fantastic. I'd love to combine blocks from both to make a Queen sized quilt for my bed… but I'm afraid that project would be beyond me, since I've not yet made any quilt.
