MOD Bear Paw QAL – Quilt Assembly
Today’s post is to provide the instructions for Quilt Assembly.
Step 9: Prepare your backing and batting. Baste the quilt. Quilt as desired and trim quilt edges. Prepare your binding strips and bind your quilt.
FOR TRIMMING THE BABY AND CRIB SIZE QUILTS, I RECOMMEND TRIMMING 1/8″ LARGER THAN QUILT TOP, TO ALLOW FOR BINDING TO NOT COVER THE POINTS IN THE BLOCKS AT THE QUILT EDGE.
OR YOU MAY WISH TO ADD A NARROW BORDER BEFORE QUILTING AND BINDING. FOR A PERFECT EXAMPLE, PLEASE SEE THIS BLOG POST BY LAURA OF SEWING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE.
For those who are joining in the quilt along, I have decided to have a linky party where you can share your progress throughout the quilt along. So if you have assembled your quilt top, you can link up here!
Click on this link ===> MOD Bear Paw QAL page for all the details and to see the schedule.
A quilt along is always more fun than quilting alone.

Then grab a button below and share it on your blog!
If you are interested in quilting along, please add the button to your blog and help to spread the word. Also…. Please feel free to share via social media! And add the hashtag #MODbearpawQAL
It is not necessary to purchase the pattern in order to participate. But if you would prefer the convenience of using a printable pdf pattern, MOD Bear Paw is available for purchase and includes complete cutting instructions and a detailed guide to finishing the entire quilt in any of the four different sizes listed. The pattern is available in my pattern store here.

Thank you again, Lorna for making this pattern available and for the sew along! This is a special pattern!!
This design has been nagging at me since you first released it. So yesterday I started my blocks, goal is several blocks per month, so will not be done until next year. I will enjoy looking at everyone else's link ups.
I've been having so much fun making Bear Paw blocks, that, since I need a quick baby quilt, I may make this using rainbow colors (red, yellow, orange, green, blue and purple) and just make the paw blocks, since I can't figure out how to make a rainbow bear. I have a great confetti fabric for the sashing.
I love the fabric you used for the sashes! So much fun, and so unexpected!
