I have just gotten out of my solids craze. I still am doing a few things with solids but I am now incorporating many more prints once again. I truly find that my taste in fabrics is ever changing and evolving. If I must give an answer than I'd pick prints at this time.

Prints are more scrappy, but I use solids as well. I am into 30s, and solids go into it, happy bright quilts are more gifted quilts.

I like bold prints with a lot of white space.
Tone on tone prints are my usual choice but seem to being heading to a little more modern theme and adding some plain colours to my stash.. especially creams and grays.

Those Fusion Illusion fabrics are one of my favorites!I love printed fabric and tend to work with that the most.But I love the solid quilts that I see other make.

Prior to about a year ago, I would have said prints with no hesitation. But this year I have been really, really drawn to solids. So my current answer is solids. Though most of my stash is prints.

I'm not too picky…I do enjoy quilting/piecing…I like prints, but ones that aren't too busy. I like orderly prints. Solids are good but without imagination can be antiseptic….I really really really like batiks which kinda offer the best of both worlds.

I'm trying to think of a project that uses only prints and I'm not sure I have made one of those…that might be a good challenge, to see if I could do that and not end up with something that would induce a migraine or a seizure. 😉

Print or solid really depends on the project at hand. I will say though, I love textured solids (Dimples, Criss Cross, Grunge, Marbles, Painters Canvas, etc.)!

I use a lot of prints and solids. I normally choose one focal fabric and then add other complimentary fabrics, both solid and prints from my stash. I love tone on tone prints, small florals, and batiks and find that most of the time they will be my main focal point. Then the rest of my solids and prints seem to just add themselves to the pile for each project!

I tend to use a combination of solids and prints in quilts, though lately, I use more prints and blenders or low volume prints in place of solids. Clothing is entirely different though! There it is almost all solids!

I have always been attracted to prints, since I started my stash with 1930's reproduction prints! I do keep some solids around, mostly white for backgrounds.

I use both. It's easier to pull solid fabrics into a good color story, but I really do love prints.
I am loving the solids with 'texture' such as shot cottons and the Grunge line by Moda
prints for sure is my go to grab. 🙂

I have traaditionally used mostly prints, but am moving to using more and more solids, both with prints and alone. I also use a lot of prints that read as solids.
I prefer prints to solids. I find it hard to match the colors the way I want, using solids.

I'm a complete sucker for fun novelty prints like the new cotton and steel lines, but solids are really so useful and versatile. And then there's the Moda V&Co ombres which hit all my buttons'💗💗💗
