Farm Girl Vintage blog tour
Hello all you Farm Girl fans! Welcome to the 50 acre farm pit stop on the tour!
My name is Lorna McMahon, a modern quilter, designer and the author of Sew Fresh Quilts.
This book includes instructions for 45 sampler blocks in two sizes (6” and 12”),
10 quilts, 2 table runners, a table topper, and a potholder.

This book is packed full of such beautiful farm fresh blocks.
It was hard to choose only one.
These two little chicks are just too darn cute!
The quilting was performed using my walking foot, in closely spaced organic wavy lines, using Superior Threads’ Omni #3023 in Light Gray thread in both the top and the bobbin. This thread blended perfectly with the background and was so subtle you can barely notice it.
For the binding I used my remaining Katie Stripe in Midnight by Beauty Queen. It’s not black, but a very dark navy blue and blends in nicely with the grey background and the blue backing. For the backing I used a matching Widescreen in Pacific, left over from making this Giggles Up quilt.

Ambleside is so pretty. I am not sure of the pattern but I would definitely make a lap quilt with the bundle. If there are any scraps left I envision a table runner or topper. The chicks are so cute and definitely look great with the piggys. Thanks for sharing and offering a giveaway.
