KONA Fox Kits for Spring Quilt Festival 2014
The Blogger’s Quilt Festival at Amy’s Creative Side has begun! Please do make time to visit the festival throughout the coming weeks. There are always so many inspiring entries. Beautiful quilts. Wonderful quilting. And gorgeous photos!
Have your say and vote for your favourite quilts!
Choosing the size of quilt to make was the most difficult decision in creating this design.
Kumquat and Papaya, Black and Snow were used to make the fox kits. I wanted to keep the applique to a minimum, so this design is entirely piecework except for the facial features.
Charm packs allowed for a wonderful variation of shades for both the leaves and the background.
The backing and binding make use of the remaining yardage.
For both the top and bobbin, I quilted using three different varieties of variegated Fantastico threads by Superior Threads.
Size: Quilt finishes at 44″ x 48″
Designed: by me, Lorna McMahon
Pieced and Quilted: on my little Janome
Fabrics: Kona cotton solids
Threads: Fantastico by Superior Threads
Keep On Quilting On!
